Joseph Curl Joseph was called to the Bar in 2007. He joined 9 Stone Buildings in October 2008 following completion of his pupillage in these Chambers. He has a broad practice comprising general civil litigation alongside traditional and commercial Chancery work. Joseph undertakes drafting, advisory and court work in the following areas: Personal and corporate insolvency Company and contractual disputes Real property Landlord and tenant Professional negligence Professional discipline and regulation Wills and probate As well as routinely undertaking trials in the County Court and the High Court, Joseph has appeared a number of times in the Court of Appeal. He has also appeared in the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, Leasehold Valuation Tribunal and Social Security Appeals Tribunal. Joseph has been published in Insolvency Intelligence, International Corporate Rescue and Trust Quarterly Review and is a standing contributor to Wills and Trusts Law Reports. He is a student member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and has sat and passed a number of STEP's professional examinations. He is also a tutor in Equity & Trusts at the University of London. Between 2001 and 2007, Joseph worked full-time in the insolvency department of DLA Piper UK LLP while carrying out both his BA and LLB degrees by part-time evening study. Louise Penfold v Tommy Fuller [2009] All ER (D) 312 (Oct) Determined the correct interpretation of "the claimant" for the purposes of the Civil Proceedings Fees Order 2008 and CPR rule 3.7. Coke-Wallis v Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales [2009] CP Rep 46, [2009] All ER (D) 147 (Jul), [2008] All ER (D) 73 (Nov) Court of Appeal decision about a professional regulator's internal disciplinary proceedings.
