Lynne Counsell Called to the Bar by Inner Temple 1986

BA History Bedford College, University of London, Diploma in Law, City University.

There are two distinct aspects to Lynne Counsell's practice.

The first aspect is General Chancery, particularly wills, trusts, probate, family provision, Court of Protection land and landlord and tenant. This includes drafting as well as advocacy and advice.

The second aspect is commercial law. She has expertise in the drafting of complex commercial documents, particularly relating to investments. She also deals with company law, shareholder matters, partnership, financial services and the regulation of money laundering. She has a specific expertise in interim remedies.

Publications include: joint editor "Injunctions" (Halsbury's Laws); joint author "Insider Trading" (Tolley 1993); contributor "Contract" and "Money" and joint contributor "Easements" and "Financial Services" (Atkins Court Forms). She has also contributed the Chapter on Injunctions to Ashe and Rider International Tracing of Assets (Sweet & Maxwell).

She has also contributed article to law journals over the years including pieces on the independence of the judiciary (New Law Journal), investment advertisements (Law Society Gazette), Chinese walls in investment houses (International Journal of Regulatory Law and Practice), money laundering (Chartered Banker) and market abuse (New Law Journal). She is the Forms Editor of Chancery Practice and Procedure published by Jordans.

Lynne Counsell was on the Anti-Corruption Working Group of the Society for Advanced Legal Studies, contributing specifically to the sub group on Civil Law chaired by Michael Tugendhat QC. The report "Banking on Corruption" was published by The Society for Advanced Legal Studies in February 2000. She has also given lectures on injunctions (for Continual Law Training) and insider dealing (for the DTI).
