Lana Wood

Overview

Lana Wood specialises in real property, both contentious and non-contentious.

Her practice encompasses a wide spectrum of land and property matters including: conveyancing, easements and restrictive covenants, boundaries, adverse possession and property contracts. She acts for developer clients as well as individuals.

She undertakes landlord and tenant work, both commercial and residential, as well as leasehold enfranchisement (flats and houses), right to manage and rights of first refusal.

Lana Wood has developed a particular expertise in co-habitation and disputes relating to the family home and in Inheritance Act/co-ownership disputes involving a new partner and the children of the deceased by an earlier relationship.

Lana is recommended by Chambers and Partners and in the Legal 500's Bar Directory.

Chambers and Partners UK Guide to the Bar (2012 Edition) states that: Lana Wood impresses with her "approachable manner and good sense of humour" when handling complex commercial and residential property matters with aplomb. Village Green applications and co-ownership, inheritance and succession claims are particularly strong suits for her.

Chambers and Partners UK Guide to the Bar (2011 Edition) also stated that she is "approachable" and describes her as "one of those barristers who masks steely determination underneath a charming exterior". "Her guidance and understanding of the importance of keeping clients abreast of developments at every stage have won her many fans".

The Legal 500 (2011 Edition) recommends her as a leading junior in property litigation (including agriculture and housing) and has done so for several years.

Lana has extensive experience of acting as inspector on non-statutory town and village green inquiries, which she is able to draw on when providing advocacy and advice services for developers and other private clients as well as for local authorities in this area.
