1991 - Worked for city firm Alsop Wilkinson (now part of DLA) in their insolvency department where she advised on major international insolvency litigation, which included asset tracing in the Polly Peck International plc administration.

1992 - Returned to the Bar and took tenancy in April 1993 (after a pupillage with a view to tenancy). In the first 2 and half years of her junior tenancy Susan carried out criminal defence work (both Magistrates and Crown Court work) whilst building up a civil practice. In the ensuing years her civil practice grew and became more specialised into its current form. Late in 1999 Susan developed an interest in restraint and receivership work under the Drug Trafficking Act 1994, and the Criminal Justice 1988, in the Administrative Court, as the Licensed Insolvency Practitioners who she acted for also worked in this area. Her work has included appearing for a foreign government in proceedings to enforce a foreign restraint order in England and Wales.

In addition she has given lectures on the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 to the Chancery Bar Association Conference 2004, and the North Eastern Family Law Association, as well as to insolvency practitioners. She is member of the Insolvency Lawyers Association, Chancery Bar Association and is a general committee member for the South Eastern Circuit. She is also an advocacy tutor for Lincoln's Inn.
