Seddon v DVLA   R.T.R. 13
Raj Arumugam successfully represented the DVLA (Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency) in defending a claim for negligence by a purchaser of a motor vehicle, the first such case ever to be brought against the DVLA. At a preliminary issues trial, Ms Justine Thornton QC (sitting as a QBD Judge) held that the DVLA owed no duty of care to the purchaser in this case. The judgment is reported at Seddon v. The Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency  EWHC 312 (QB). The case is currently on appeal to the Court of Appeal.
